I've noticed that breaking things up means the actual gameplay has become deeper, so I feel like most of the time it's worth it. Like Hot Tubs coming in EPs, now they're SPs... True, but you got a bunch of other things with that pack as well as a Hot Tub. And look at the new minor pet. Isn't it everything you always wanted in a minor pet?
People complain about the number of packs, but you could say that every time Sims 3 Store released a new bundle, it was releasing a pack. And that makes for hundreds of packs. You could say it's optional... except that Sims 4 packs are optional too.
So you can't really say that Sims 4 piecemeals its packs more than Sims 3; it just does it differently. And if you say "If you don't like horses don't play them..." well, when horses come out in a GP for SIms 4 that'll be the case again. Only this time you wouldn't feel like you're wasting a third of an EP.
Face it, you could only ever play one Sims 3 world per save. FACE IT. So worlds were horrifically overpriced considering how much use you got out of them.
I’m getting tired of having to repeat the very same arguments time after time after time but ok, I will.
I never felt like wasting 1/3 of a pack by the way, let’s assume we are talking about actual Sims fans here, people who like the iteration they’re paying for. The good thing about this aspect by the way, is that there’s always new things to be found in Sims 3 (and 2, let’s not forget about the other versions). To this very day for me (and because there is so much, replaying gameplay is fun all over again too because it’s been years that I played that). Not like in Sims 4 where people have done everything there is to be done within three days tops. So I’d rather consider that an argument in favour of substantial packs, not a con.
And face it, let’s not compare those worlds to Sims 4 neighborhoods shall we? You had as much space in one world as in 4 TS4 ‘worlds’. And you could customize them any way you wanted to, so they weren’t as static. Plus NRaas Traveler: face it, we actually can travel between TS3 worlds. I don’t care it wasn’t EA who enabled that.
