When you think about it, Sims 3 was just as broken up and subsidized. Instead of GPs we had the Sims 3 Store, including additional worlds (and if you wanted special content you had to pay more for the Gold Edition, and sets with premium items where you had to get the whole thing even if you just wanted the premium item.
@stilljustme2 but were hottubs or butlers add in a Sims 3 store?
Hot tubs yes -- not butlers. I don't even remember how butlers worked in Sims 3 as opposed to Sims 4; Bridgeport was so laggy and bugged in my game that I only played it once. And I don't remember if you could have butlers outside of Bridgeport.
You can. You can have a butler any where you want in Sims 3 as long as you have the money and the butler has their own room assigned to them.
Also you can fix any world in Sims 3 - but it is not easy or quick. Takes a lot of work, but it can be done. I have no issues with Sims 3 and don't use mods in that game. No lag - freezing or getting stuck - things many players complain about. I just do not like Bridgeport very much - but do like Rflongs remake of it that includes dive spots - which is also an option you can use.
Unfortunately sps has a serious animation limit and limit on even items if they require too much new artist work - so it was not possible to add more types of pets to that pack even if not a one of the D & C content was in there. At most we might have had more wall decals and bunch more colors - but instead he used one pets sp to add more content for the other pets pack and gets blasted for it. He cannot change the rules he has to work under regardless of what we ask for and don't forget many simmers complained of not getting enough C & D content in the ep. Maybe we have to not complain then - seeing if they can't deliver more in the ep, and people don't want an sp for an ep - then maybe we just have to settle for what we get.
Still I feel if we can have sps for every other sim in the family - what difference does it make if we have sps for our families pets. Logically many of us DO look at our pets as part of our families - right? So how is it okay to have kid stuff, toddler stuff, people want teen stuff, elder stuff - but no - don't you dare add pet stuff no matter what.
Nope I just do not get it.
Apparently good thing we did not get toddlers in a ep or can't ask for any other kind of sims - as making them sps would be a huge big no-no. I guess if I ever want more for my vamps - I can't ever have it - they got what they can get I guess.
You are missing the point. Please go and watch the sim supply’s video. It has been posted on this thread. Many others have said what their issues are with my first pet.
I saw the video - the day it came out - saw many others, it's one side of a two sided coin and how some people see it that differs than the way I see it. Content in a pack for my game is content in a pack. Once I install an ep - that ep is part of my game and to me added content meand more content for my game. If the devs made a free pack for C&D there would have not been any of this sp for an ep complaints. The same content free would not have created any problem - that is where my issue comes in. Because it has a price tag it is suddenly a horrible pack. That is my point - free or not it is the same pack. Also it would have been made by yet an even different team so may not have been the same either.
I saw the same kind of posts and videos during when we had the Sims 3 store - even though that content was not made by any of the Sims 3 devs that made the eps and sps - people constantly claimed it was removed from packs just to charge more at the store or similar sentiments I see here on this pack. But when for Christmas one year EA gave us the pack from the store for free - the same people suddenly loved EA - there was no talk it was taken from another pack or anything all. That's what I can't agree with - I don't care if every person who sims said it - it does not alter my view when a price tag makes it bad and free makes it great. It's the same pack.
I think you understand but don’t want to accept other people have a differing opinion. Had it been free the dissatisfaction wouldn’t exist true but not many were asking for this to be free. It’s the principle of how this pack was made, how content was held back (and it’s a sad day when a game changer notices it and calls them out on it.
I feel like a stuck record. I truely get that EA could announce the toilet stuff pack and you would buy it and more power to you. But please accept that many people are unhappy the way you once were. For many people toddlers didn’t change our games significantly enough to turn a blind eye to the rest of the games faults. This isn’t about just having to suck it up because time changes and people move on - people accept change but change is only good when it makes things better.
I accept the sims has changed drastically. That’s fine. It’s become my mobile game. I play if I have a spare 30 minutes and dont have time to game. I get some people adore this game and I’m happy for them. I was one once but then city living came out and my eyes opened. I accept they will do things differently and there things I like. But the biggest change I see is how we as consumers pay for things. I don’t buy (pardon the pun) that we just have to shut up and open our wallets to support the game blindly. I love The Sim series. I have grown up with it. But I would rather see it crash and burn than be nickel and dimed to death.
People who are unhappy about my first pet have a right to be. They have as much right as someone who has bought it and loves it. Indeed there are many sims 4 fans who won’t buy this pack because they don’t agree with it. That’s their right. This is a thread for people concerned about that. Accepting time changes doesn’t automatically mean you cannot express concern or just automatically say “It’s okay something from the past did it too! That doesn’t make it okay. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
If fans don’t buy something and the product flops - that’s not down to the fans. You go to the people who made it.
