@_@ Woah Every time I look back at this thread there are so many new comments I'm tired by the time I'm done reading them all lol.
Anyway, I'm so glad I started this thread, I really never knew any of the stuff being said about the Sims 3 Store... And I forgot the mobile and free-to-play versions even existed. I definitely understand some of the points being made in defense of this piecemeal approach to the content of these packs, too. For what they are, they ARE fun, and interesting... and for those who don't have the previous iterations to compare to, they probably do seem fine...
Unfortunately, the previous iterations exist, and whether or not this is a reboot, doesn't matter. The fact still stands that the gameplay expansions are being broken up in a way that makes each expansion feel incomplete, and needlessly padded with re-skins of clothing and useless objects. The again, while I find those objects an re-skins useless, there's definitely an audience for them, or else the stuff-packs of the previous iterations would not have sold, and no one would have used the sims 3 store. I suppose for those people, these packs are probably fine...
Honestly I could think myself in circles for days on this... actually I kinda have... but in the end I still can't bring myself to fully accept the way things have been broken up. Some of it is understandable, but more of it is rather insulting to me. I know it's not shocking that EA has taken the route that would potentially turn the most profit, and my, and others, choice to stop giving them money may either do nothing, or cause the end of the franchise, both results I don't want... But a part of me would rather see the franchise die, than see my fellow fans ripped off this way.
