Tried to play that way, thought the sims were hideous and shoved a bunch of alpha cc in my game, then realized how goofy looking that was amongst the cartoony background. That was years ago, though. I only use Maxic match cc, blends in nicely with the game, and all my clothes and hairs are merged. Mods are amazing, but constantly having to update them is quite annoying.
