Anyone Know How To Fix The Treehouse Slide?

My teens just upgraded the treehouse to include a slide. A cute blue slide appeared on the treehouse, but there is no option to use the slide. There is also a slide in my household inventory, but I cannot connect this to the treehouse.

Anyone else had this happen? Or am I doing something wrong?
