I like both depending on the story I'm playing. My ideal would be to start sims off in rundown tiny apartments and as they progress and start a family I would move them to a house. However I find San Myshuno lags my game more so I never play there for very long before getting frustrated and going back to houses. Shame because the apartments would really add something to my stories.
