April Community survey speculation thread

SimGuruFrost has posted yet another Community survey link just a couple hours ago
Link to the survey

And honestly, what it implies regarding the current state of sims 4 is VERY BIG

Let's discuss this.

I'll talk in this thread on the assumption that you know everything presented in the survey. So to the people in the future who may see this topic, watch This video for more info.

My guess is that EAxis makes their community surveys in 3 phases of their development:

Either
A-They aren't working on the content presented in the survey AT ALL. (Unlikely)
B-They're in the pre-production/design phase A.K.A what we see in the survey are just at a concept art level and any one of them that don't get enough hype will be scrapped. (Very likely)
or
C-They're far in development and want to gauge how hyped we are so they can pinpoint a deadline and shuffle release dates accordingly. (Maybe)

Now if I were to take a guess from how the knitting stuff pack is developing. It takes 7-13 months to go from pre-production to production to release. And that's for a pack that's object-oriented.
For a pack that's more gameplay oriented (or a base game update as big as NPC STORY PROGRESSION) I'd guess something around 10 months.

So we can only assume that, unless EAxis is already working on these stuff, we won't get them until early 2021.

But let's put that aside for a moment.
What are you most excited for?

For me personally i want a trait revamp and more consequences more than anything. The base game needs them BADLY.

  • How far in the fututre do you guys think will the devs apply the results from the polls? Like I wouldn't expect these features to become reality until maybe the packs coming out in 6-12 months.

I think they need about 12 months but I also wonder if they are still conducting surveys for the Sims 4 (it would mean at least 1 more year of content - which is fine) or if it might also provide valuable insights for the next opus. Perhaps surveys are intended to cloud the issue. :)

    > 1. A holiday and resort pack: Greek islands and Swiss mountains. Become a resort tycoon or treat yourself to a luxury (or budget) holiday and immerse yourself in local cuisine, customs and activities (including hiking and skiing).
    > 2. A romance and wedding pack: more romantic interactions (and drama), More wedding clothing!, honeymoon, have your wedding at an holiday destination, including Italian vineyard holiday destination.
    > 3. A k-pop pack: bands and fan-clubs, including Korean city world. New cuisine options, cute collectibles and outrageous clothing and hairstyles.
    > 4. A “growing pains” pack, every life phase has its own struggles (including midlife crisis, teenage crushes), more interactions that are specific for a certain age but also between ages especially if they are related (I want realistic grandparents!), including high schools and retirement homes.

I'd love a holiday/resort pack! And I really like your idea to set a romance and wedding pack in Italy - I can just picture it now. <3
