Are expansions getting worse with each Sims game?

I'm so confused as to why we are getting the same expansion packs as were released in previous sims games, yet we are missing things from them. Such as our pets expansion was only cats and dogs, and i...

Yes and they seem to getting worse and worse in this game alone. I hate to be a downer to the Mac and console users but I really feel like adding the two platforms is not helping the situation. We have no idea of the limitations this addition may have caused especially with regards to development time and what animations can and cannot be added with ease.
