Are greenhouses real?

I know we can build them and all that but like somebody pointed out the windows seem to already be in game.

What I am wondering is do we get any special greenhouse objects. My memory for sims 2 isn't great but I remember there were special greenhouse lights. The sims 3 store greenhouse had sprinklers and a seed system.

So I guess what I am wondering will it effectively be an appearance thing where it would have no difference if I planted my plants in the living room.

Another thing is, foundations. The greenhouse will look awesome if you don't have foundations and can plant directly in the ground but with foundations you'll need pots.

I don't think we've heard much about it so I'm just curious. I am also wondering if there will be light and shadows or will it act like a normal roof.

Did you try resizing the seed?

No, I didn't think about that.

I don't know if you can (probably not) but it would be cool if you could. A giant seed gives you a giant tree which gives you giant fruit. :D

Now I have to put the Twitch Doctor Who marathon on hold and go try this...

Come to think of it, I've never tried to resize a plant. Has anyone else? A giant cowplant would be cool, gobbling up groups of sims walking past your house.

I've only resized the plants that we don't grow, like the trees from JA

I tried to resize the seeds but you can't plant them. Whether you upsize or downsize them, when you try to plant them either in the ground or in the planter they automatically go back into your inventory. Oh well, it was a good idea.

Making a jungle with giant vegetable and fruit plants might be kinda cool, in a Land of the Giants sort of way. I'm going to have to try this too.

I hope that works because that will look so awesome XD

Giant cowplants indeed work!! I do it all the time. The shrunken ones are adorable too.

Just tried resizing the plants and it does work, but the fruit and veggies don't resize with it. If you resize a tree, the fruit is left floating in the air below the leaves. If you resize the other plants, the dirt around the plant increases too and it looks like the fruit is sticking out of the ground. You can still harvest, water, fertilize, etc., but it doesn't look realistic.

I have never seen a greenhouse with a bunch of stairs. That would bug me in my game.

That's how I feel too but I don't want to only have flat houses either. Wish they'd change how foundations work.

Maybe their working on it. They said at first, glass roofs were too hard, but here they are.

I never heard that. I'd love that, it's one of my few problems with sims 4 buildmode.
  • I have enlarged garden plants and they seem ok. My sim could not interact with the cow plant though but it sure looked neat. I resized it because I was afraid it would die.
