Are mods ever coming to console? We've been patient. Any news?

I very much doubt it.
EA make it very clear that the use of mods is unsupported, so I wouldn't hold your breath. Some Bethesda games support mods on console, but the only ones available are curated by Bethesda as part of the Creation Club. As far as I am aware, EA has nothing like that kind of thing for any of their games
