Are "no work" holidays supposed to take away my work vacation days???

I plan on starting The Sims 4 Seasons tonight after work and I am disappointed to hear that. I'll definitely have to be a bit more mindful of the type of holidays I create in game because I definitely don't want those counting against my simmies.
