Are you having fun playing Sims 4 without mods?

There are definitely things for me that would be better if I used mods. I currently don't use them because I haven't before and because I don't want to keep updating them, but I don't have anything against them. I've heard of several that improve aspects of the game that need to be fixed but still haven't for whatever reason...personalities, always drinking water, and retail are my main issues.
