I play large households so autonomy on is essential. Don't get me wrong, I do employ the Pause button, so I can stack up a few things in certain Sims' queues that needs doing. So, yes, I do direct my Sims on the one side, but I enjoy their autonomous interactions on the other side. They do the funniest things and it's endearing to see how much they love their children/spouse/siblings, too.
