I consider them similar to the type of object the Sims 3 magic gnomes were. Left alone they grew up, got old, died and became object ghosts but were still for all intense and purposes AN OBJECT.
Yes you didn’t have the ability to age them up but then again, the gnomes in some respect aged, had families and so on similar to sims.
Babies are technically the same except once they become a toddler they’re a lifestage automatically. Yes babies are classed as a lifestage yet they carry the basic machanics of an object
So they're like a lifestage-object? Babies in TS4 really are in a class of their own, aren't they?
