I feel like Sunlani could also work out as Scariff, Rakata Prime, Rishi, or even Glee Anslem or the final world in Fallen Order, even though they seem to be solely underwater planets, it wouldn't be out of the question for a little but of island somewhere on the planet, and mermaids just add to the aquatic species inhabit the planet bit.
Also, I feel like the story aspect isn't really a story at all. Just that we can do missions that give us what seems to be Get Famous styled reputation with the forces on Batuu. I imagine the missions will be from a pool that gets recycled over time. It kinda seems in my opinion like the Faction with the overall highest influence will be the one that controls Batuu and we'll see some changes based on that, kinda like Neighborhood Action Plans and pollution.
I'm a bit conflicted on how the Major NPCs are gonna work though. Like can we make them move in with us or have babies with Rey/Kylo/Vi/Hondo? From a Sims perspective it'd make perfect sense since we can get babies from Santa. But at the same time it seems maybe a bit weird to be like "Alright fam, 20$ to virtually **** Daisy Ridley". What do you guys think?
Lastly as for why I believe the Force Powers will be in the game. Is it largley comes down to the same reason sooo many people are hating on this pack, and that's the reuse of mechanics and assets.
● The droids seem to be a reuse of Robots and Familiars
● The Lightsaber Duels are kinda similar animation wise to Get Famous
● The finding chests and stuff is an idea from Jungle Adventure
● Get Famous like Rep system
Like I personally never will understand why people complain about new packs using older pack features and expanding on them, or adding new assets of them. Like that's kind of how the game should naturally progress. It's also not a new idea thing in the sims. Sims 3 added Vampires in 2 different expansions, and it didn't matter which of the 2 you had, you still got the Vampires. Sims 4 has taken key features like playable jobs in GtW and reused them for the Acting Career. So I don't understand why people will try and restrict things that a new pack can and can't do, such as giving us improves aliens (which I still hope happens). Like, say we get a Farming pack next expansion, does that mean they shouldn't include a water collection or solar panel kind of object, that would obviously massively benefit the feel and gameplay of farming, just because it's done in another pack? Which, the only pack that has required another so far, has been a stuff pack, and those are always just modifiers anyhow, so I don't mind it in that case as much.
But anywho, back to my point, I purely believe the reason we have so much detail and interesting new species to fit the Star Wars vibe, is because they were able to take and reuse elements of other packs, and I'm grateful for that. Like I can't Express how much Star Wars and SWTOR conversion CC I have in the game already.
It is also because of the reuse that I completely see it being in the realm of possibility that they would take some Mermaid, Alien, Vamp, and Spellcaster abilities to add into a Force User life state or more likely the Lightsaber/Force Sensitivity Skill.
I also see it being plausible that other packs might benefit from Star Wars potentially. Obviously a lot of love and detail is going into this pack, if for no reason other then it's Star Wars and going through heavy reviews by Lucasfilm/Disney before release. As such, I know packs do certain cross overs, like
● Seasons + Island Living = Unique Monsoon weather in Sulani, and Mermaids get weather powers.
● Eco Living + RoM = A new interaction/Spell that apparently allows them to cleanse polluted lots
● Cats&Dogs + RoM = Pets can be Familiars
● Vampires + Seasons = Vampires can now survive the Sun better via Umbrellas
And the list of connectivity goes on.
Anyone have any ideas for how other packs might mingle with JtB? Personally I hope for some unique space weather or at least the ability to rain while in Batuu I think would be nice.
Side Question to throw in:
I've seen people talk about being able to edit secret lots, like Sixam and Stuff, how does one do this? Also does that extend to the Magical Realm and Vacation spots?
