That's basically what I did with that lot when Island Living first came out, except that of course it's one household, currently. It's basically a sort of eco-commune, with a heavy emphasis on the "communal" living part. (Sharing chores, cooking and eating together, etc.)
I did toy with the idea of making it a residential rental now, but I think I still prefer having it all as one household. I am maxed out at 8, but, I think the current balance of the household is really good. Still, it's nice to know that if I ever want to expand it, now I could just turn the huts into apartments.
