Birthday Party Idea

Every time I go to throw a birthday party for a sim, I think about this. But this time it really matters. I'm going to age up Marina in a couple of days which means Pierce will need to age up as well.

The thing is that I want Bobby to throw the party for both his daughter and her soon-to-be fiancé. However, no one has even met Pierce's family, let alone his friends. For that matter, Marinabhas friends that Bobby doesn't know. Therefore, he can't invite Pierce's family and friends to the party.

I think that for birthdays and weddings the friends of the birthday sims/wedding couple should be available to the host so that no one feels robbed of a significant even. I know those left out won't really care in the game but as the party-planner, I do care.

What's your opinion?
  • I'm pretty sure basically everyone who plays the game agrees. Hoping that the Wedding pack addresses being able to invite friends and family of both sims who are being wed instead of just the one who sets it up, which would be an opportune time to also do the same for other types of parties that could have more than one sim hosting.

That said, another solution is to have the Sim who does know them invite them over before you set up the event and have the other Sim greet each of them.

I thought about that but Pierce is, was and always will be a roommate to this household until after the wedding, then he and Marina will move out together. So I can't even have him invite his loved ones over for his birthday or wedding.

Yah, I experience similiar issues with weddings in my game often, because I rarely add the second sim to the household before the wedding. That's why I'm holding out hope that the upcoming pack fixes the issue for both weddings, and other types of parties like your planned birthday party.

I would love that, personally. I have had the engaged couple run around trying to meet all the siblings of their intended. Sometimes it works, other times you discover somebody is missing AT the WEDDING. I try to adjust this oversight by invite to hang out, but if they haven't met them, that just doesn't work. :open_mouth: Here's to hoping the devs have fixed this and we'll have a very happy surprise in the coming Game Pack. I won't hold my breath, however. I've played this game since 2005. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. :open_mouth:
  • Wow and that just happened. Kyoshi who is married to Bobby just got a call from his mom asking if she should get to know Bobby better as a friend.

Just after you had suggested that I have Marina and Pierce invite their friends and Pierce's family over so Bobby can meet them, Bobby's mother-in-law just finally showed interest in getting to know him. Lol
  • I mean, I get that having a party such as the juice party or something should be the host's contacts so that shouldn't change but when it's a party intended for others, then it's simply not fair to the guest of honor to not have their peeps represent.
