Black hair representation (Base Game)

It's an improvement. More braids would be great too, and some locs. And long curly styles for all hair types.

I also would like some sense of consistency within types. It's hard to keep a Sim with only curly hair, or only short hair, or only long hair because there's no consistency (hopefully that makes sense).

It does makes sense, yes. If you'd like a Sim with a certain style of everyday hair to have variants for, say, formal, or athleticwear, it's very hard to find something that matches in color and texture. Even similar hairlines are difficult to find.
