Oh no, I just realised there was an hour between week 4 and the update and I wasn't able to play. Now I have to update before I can do week four. But I can't update my mods until the modders have time to fix them. I can't open my save without mods and I can't make a temporary save because the event will immediately trigger and this is the first (and perhaps last) event I actually want to play with sims I care about, sims in a save with mods. Guess EA has me check mate.

You should still have plenty of time to play the event even if it means downloading the update and waiting for any mods that need updating. I mean, this is just the beginning of week four. There are two more weeks after this one. Modders tend to be really quick about updating their mods when their mods need to be updated for patches.

I completed the event offline and am aiming to collect the rewards a bit later. Then again, I only use MCCC so it's easier to check for updates.
I am not a massive fan of these events overall (though I prefer the way they've been done for the last 2, rather than daily sign ins) but I did enjoy some of the rewards for the reaper event, and this time it was great to have the alarm clock back. However, if this is going to be the way of things now, it's going to force me to update MCCC much more frequently if I want any of the rewards. I used to update on average every 2 or 3 updates rather than every time, and play offline in between. It looks like that won't be practical any more, because I'm sure they will continue to include event rewards I'm interested in among the ones I'm not fussed about.
