Well you CAN use the pickpocket option as a reward of thief career I think right? So you can go around to people's house, pick-pocketing everybody in the family and stealing their food XD is a beginning?
Edit: you can also ask for loan I think as charisma goes up? You can be a thief more of a con artist thief actually.
