Build/buy glitch in plantsim scenario

I completed the scenario a few days ago and never experienced what you are describing over the 2 sim weeks that I was playing the PlantSim household. Sorry I couldn't offer any more help than saying "nope, not for me." :lol:

@Stormkeep I have been sitting here wondering something. Both times I tried this and had it happen I was on the crick cabana lot, in the original maxis version, not one of my downloads. I'm wondering if there might be something about that lot? Because the first sim that happened too had some cc. The second one was entirely vanilla. The only common thread is that lot. I'm going to head back into the game here shortly and try it on a different lot and see if I get the same issue.

@DaniRose2143, I had a similiar issue to that when exiting build/buy in my game as well earlier today, though unrelated to any scenarios. Same thing in terms of clicking on things did nothing. Also I couldn't open the game menu and even the build/buy and gallery buttons no longer worked.
For me it happened after aging up a baby to toddler (after returning from Build/Buy where I went to delete the bassinet). I did some research on my end and in my case the problem was caused by the "Beloved" aspiration reward trait being on household members of the baby/toddler. I resolved it by rolling back to an older save and removing Beloved trait from everyone with MCCC before aging the baby up. Fortunately I had saved right before the age-up.

That information doesn't really help you with your circumstance, but at least you know you aren't alone in being frustrated by game issues. :)

@Stormkeep That is interesting. I need to take a dive into any hidden traits they may share. It never happened until today and only with that scenario. Who knows, that information may turn out to be valuable in some way.

I'd look at moodlets too. Moodlets and traits are very similiar in implementation at the code level. I've had bad moodlets (buffs), caused by outdated mods, cause parts of the UI start to glitch out and eventually lead to pretty similiar problems.

If you are using any plantsim related mods that weren't updated when the scenario was added, those would be good candidates to look at too, seeing as PlantSim status is entirely controlled by moodlets (some hidden).

@Danirose2143, it's entirely possible. If you are able to reproduce the problem pretty readily, I'd consider testing it without (most) mods installed just to see if that resolves it. Then you at least know whether the core issue is mods or the game.

@Stormkeep I just remembered something that happened right before the first glitch. When I clicked on the details tabs in the upper left they did not display properly, and would not close no matter what. When I say they didn't display properly none of the little windows had any text in them, totally blank. I'm going to run back in and try it again and grab a screenshot. Brb

That's interesting, that whole area of the UI is messed up. I'd say it's definitely probably a mod issue. You have more icons up there than I ever see in my game, if those are from mods, those would be the first I check on.

Your whole problem could be rooted in that UI issue, and it just takes a while to cause more/broader problems. That and exiting BB does some UI refreshes, so a UI issue caused by a mod would get compounded when leaving BB.

I almost forgot to answer that. Where the scenario button is, you have the holiday button, and then a pet/paw button and then two other icons I don't recognize at all. All in a row in the upper left. I'm not sure what the pet paw icon is for either. I don't think I have that in my game, and I know I don't have those other two (which look the same). That has to be a mod, and it's the first mod I'd remove to see if that clears up the other UI issues up there. That and the pet paw one...if that's a mod.

That and any mod that touches the holiday/event goals or scenario interface element, if you have any of those.

Oh, that's interesting. They could be because you're wilting. I never got as wilty as your sim is in the picture. :lol:
