Building a workplace
I am currently building a work place/office for my sims to go to when they 'work from home'. The idea is to kind of have a feel like an active career because my sims leave their home lot for work task...

Love this thread! I often create a work space on community lot, but I tend to just add a small area in the corner of the lot that is mainly tagged for community lot purposes. And because it makes space limited it will mostly serve just one sim's home business.
I'd add Knitters to OP's list. I know it's mainly a hobby activity, but it would be fun equipping a room a tad more professionally. I also have working offices for several pretended careers, like ie the Curator at the Museum, mostly just an office with meeting room facilities. I also have community lot working space for a few Janitors.
