Can I build off lot with cheats?

Not sure about cheats, but Twisted Mexi has a mod called T.O.O.L. (Take Objects Off Lot) that lets you take objects outside lot boundaries. Tried it once, but couldn't really get the hang of it; but that's just me.

I forgot that I asked this until I tried to edit the hallway in my apartment building. ?

I went to his site and read everything, also watched YouTube vids and it seems like I'll use the BetterBuildBuy mod and T.O.O.L.

Well, BetterBuildBuy won't work even though I've followed the install instructions 17 times. Seriously, download, unzip, drag folder to mods directory. How hard is that?????? But apparently my pristine, no mod/no CC game makes BBB think it's installed incorrectly.

I give up. If the simpler mod won't work, why bother with the more powerful mod? :'(

This may be a silly question but did you enable mods in the settings in your game? It gets disabled after every patch, and since it seems like you've never used mods, that may be why.

Yeah, mods & CC are enabled in game.
I rebooted, deleted the downloaded mods, re-downloded, stood on my head in the backyard at midnight with a potato between my toes and it still doesn't work.

It's okay. I'll try T.O.O.L. and forget about the BBB. I do feel like I'll be missing out on something though.

Are they in sub-subfolders? Script mods only work one subfolder deep.

Nope, no sub directories. Main mod folder.

Hmm. I have Better Build Buy installed & it works just fine. You have the folder in the main mods folder (ie: documents/electronic arts/sims 4/mods) and not the individual files? Also, try deleting the "resource.config" file in the mods folder; the game should generate a new one & might fix the issue.
