Can I get a toddler back after it has been taken away?

So I sent my SuperSim couple on vacation and left their children, one teenager and one toddler with the Nanny. Within 30 sim minutes of them returning, I get the dreaded message that the toddler has b...

Oh Man! That's horrible! I've never had a toddler die, or taken away for that matter. I was surprised how sad I was. I ended up just going back to a previous save.
