Can sims date anywhere else besides the resturant?

You can have a date at a restaurant. You even get restaurant specific date goals. Do you play with mods?

I do but wanted to take them to bowling

I don't often take my sims on dates. Didn't think there was a restriction on where you could take them. Currently don't have a bowling place OR restaurant placed in any world. Might have to place a couple of those lots. My go-to place is Myshuno Meadows.

Oh I miss read the title. Is the bowling lot designated as bar or nightclub?

Hm, I obviously took my sims out to way too few dates! I thought we could simply pick any lot from the map, but maybe that was in TS3. Time flies... :smiley:

As much as I know, the only lots dates are not possible on are generic lots.

You should be able to have a date at the bowling places. If you can't then you are expeirincing a bug. This needs to be reported to SimGuruNick.

I think they need to be zoned as a bar, lounge or nightclub in order to work. My bowling alley in San Myshuno is a lounge (I enclosed the outdoor upstairs patio when I converted it and made that into the performance space; the last time my Sims were there, the Punch Lines comedy group was actually having a meetup there which was cool). I haven't tested it out for a date (two of my Sims are doing the Soulmate aspiration so I'll have to be sending them out on dates.

Prior to Dine Out, the standard destination for my Sim dates was the park; I do appreciate more options. :)

You can go on dates on any community lot that isn't generic. You can also go to special lots like the bluffs in Windenburg. You can also choose to go on a date at your own house and I think even the house of your love interest. Other residential lots are disallowed.
