@DerekJohnson Interesting to hear from someone who likes the white load screens! As I mentioned in my post earlier it seems to me people either find them very bright and intrusive or they don't really mind either way. Now you are the first I've noticed feeling differently, so it's good you've spoken up!
I'm one of the unlucky many who suffer from migraines triggered by light. I have my monitor set to low brightness and try to keep my room well lit. The Sims 4 is the first time I've had migraines triggered by a game. I know I can just close my eyes when the load screen is about to hit, but honestly, I'm bound to mistime that once in a while, or open them thinking the load was over when it actually had a few more seconds.
For me the main issue is the rapid transition from the dark interior of sims homes to the bright white of the load screen. You know how the forums have the neon green+white option or the gray+white option? The gray+white option works for me, the green+white one triggers my headaches. Arbitrary, I know. I assume the same sorcery is at work with the green plumbob on white load screen, especially when my eyes have just had to rapidly adjust from a rather muted pallet to a very bright one. Does that make sense? I can understand your stance; the colour scheme is sort of futuristic/clean which appeals to some people! I feel like it would appeal to me in print, but it's murder to me on a monitor.
I wonder how you might feel if the load screen was something like concept artwork of the town you are travelling to. So, something like this:

There would be several per neighbourhood. Maybe a spinning plumbob in the corner, and the usual scroll down on the bottom. Ideally you would be able to mod those images so that people could install their own screenshots or pictures of kittens or whatever the heck they want. :)
As to the AI, I would love some options here. I don't have as much trouble as I know others do with the white on white, but it seems visibility is an issue for many. Many games have different colour schemes for colour blind players. It would be great if we had a couple of choices here - maybe a traditional blue and a colour-blind option? Personally, I would love to see a 'Traditional UI' Option in the menu, (much like how they offered a TS3 camera option.) for those of us who feel the new lay out is too spread out.
