Can we please get some new careers?

I go through the current list with new Sims and feel underwhelmed and bored at this point with the careers we have. CC careers just feel incomplete with the lack of reward objects and chance cards so it's up to the devs to release new ones. ):

Lets get back old careers like military and education. Introduce some new ones! CC creators have made dancing, film, counseling and dentistry, just to name a few, into plain old rabbit hole careers.

I don't know, and frankly I don't even care, how they would fit into a stuff pack theme but a rabbit hole career can't be too much for a stuff pack either!

Just...ghjeiqbpuyhovtpw, more careers please!!!!!!!

  • I feel like the starting careers were lacking even with the two career paths baked into the ones we got, and the careers added with Get to Work, which I was hoping was going to be more like Ambitions for the Sims 3. I want to be able to register my sims as self-employed if they own a store, vet or restaurant. Or have a self-employed sim be like a farmer who sells fruits and veggies. I miss those kind of options that Sims 3 had. Also, why can't adults have part-time jobs?
  • The current selection is massively lacking. We definitely need military and education back, and more normal jobs. It does make a big difference when you've got a particular sim or character in mind. It's not just disappearing off a lot, it's the outfits, the skills you learn for it, and the chance cards. I actually have a former soldier/teacher character who I've made in both TS2 and TS3, with nothing to do in this game... Unless I delve into custom careers.
  • I remember the good days of TS2 when now and then a pack would add 3 or 4 new careers in addition to whatever the theme of the pack was. No ties to anything before (other than linking to 2 or 3 college majors), just new ways for our sims to make a living. If they could do it then without blowing any gaskets, they could now.
  • Would be great to have new careers. Doesn't have to be interactive careers since that gets repetitive. Currently we have 17 official careers, 10 of which are base game. Feels a little bare considering Sims 4 has been around for a few years already.
  • More careers would be nice. Not the "open" careers, though. Sims that take those types of careers are considered unemployed slackers. Also, whether or not there are employees, if the owner doesn't show up, the business doesn't open and no money is made. EA can miss me with that nonsense.

I wouldn't mind seeing a few more careers that have work-at-home options, though. Rap artist, lawyer, photographer, dancer, interior designer, architect, hair stylist or nail tech....

Why? What difference does the career title make? Your sim disappears off the lot for it regardless.

It's more immersive when you have an actual job present in game with its own panel and chance cards.

Back on topic, I agree wholeheartedly. Working is a huge part of every sim game and I find it inexcusable for them to neglect this aspect of gameplay so much.

There's too much focus on active or semi active careers (two EPs in a row only gave us those and nothing else)

I think besides that, every EP should come with at least 2 or 3 new "normal" rabbit hole jobs. Is that too much work for the devs to have someone prepare all necessary text for them? It's literally just that.

Bingo! and here comes my sims 5 please save us bit! ~~ and please be built for offline/single player from the start not a broken online project turned single player after the fact you see its sister project aka sims city online launch failures.
  • I'd love more career, even if they were rabbit holes. I like the experience of leveling them up and collecting new items enough even if they aren't playable like in Get to Work. I hope that they do any career additions better than City Living though. I swear those careers take way longer to level up in, regardless of whether you work from home or go in, and the promotion bonuses were pretty lackluster. I did like the work from home options though, I would love to see more of that, or an option to work overtime from home after work.

IDK, I would accept so much as far as new careers come. I just hope that we get something more because what we have is getting boring. I'm looking forward to seeing what the gardening career in Seasons is going to look like.
  • Seasons is getting a new gardening career. Flower sorter and Botanist branches. Sounds cute.
