Can we use the wedding cakes as normal cakes?
I haven't tested this but I hope their not locked to weddings as I'd love to use that heart cake as a normal cake for Love Day.

I'm just resurrecting this thread briefly for a public service announcement, for those who do not frequent the mods and cc section of the forums.
A mod has been released which allows you to use the Wedding Cakes as Birthday cakes. The modder even made the new blow-out-candle animation (to adjust the height of the blowing) as an optional addon rather than forcing it on you. Available here at MTS.
