Can you not move with your cow and llama?

I wanted to move to a bigger house so I threw my sheds and their animals in my household inventory. Chickens and coop came with me just fine. I already had a new shed on the lot put I couldn't put my cow or llama in it. I got the specific object notice. Placed their original shed down and got the same message. Then they disappeared from my inventory completely. Are they gone for good?

    I've seen this glitch happen in a couple of let's plays on Youtube, but also, how did you try to put your cow or llama back? you need to click on the shed and assign an animal to said shed, rather than taking them out of your inventory and placing them on your lot.

    Try clicking on the shed and then clicking "assign animal". Then select the animal you want to put there. That worked for me.

    Was coming to answer just this! You have to actually click on the shed and it also worked for me to put the animals back from the family inventory to the sheds!

    This, and safest way to move with the animals is to put them in your sims inventory.

    yup, I had a similar problem. Put chickens in my household inventory, moved and then couldnt assign them to the coop. They are still showing up as in the inventory but are also registering as being in the coop too.
    Poor Ethel and Mabel apparently now live in a box! *sniff*

    Click on the animal shed, then choose Action and see what options you get. I just closed my game so I can't test it, but I did it via Action earlier. Or try Assign ... while animal is still in your inventory.
