Can you play weekly rotation?

I play a rotation save where I focus on one household for a sim week. Would I still be able to do that with a sim in Uni or would I have to break their time there for a week? I have one about to go and twins soon to age up to go. That leads to another question: Can I have both twins go together like in Sims 3 or is it like Get to Work and only one at a time?

  • I never played TS3 Uni, but yes, you can have many active sims in the same Uni household, being dorm or residential. BUT - you should plan for playing them through their term before switching households, or they will perform randomly/average. Their progress for current term won't be paused while you are playing other houses. It's not a problem though, you just need to play them for 5-7 days in one go.

You can add new students to the existing household at any time, but if you plan playing the students for only 1 term at the time, you should avoid adding a new student when the others are mid-term. Make sure they all start their term on the same day, but they can be on different terms, no problem.

Also, when a term is completed, there will immediately be a popup urging you to reenroll for the next term. Playing on rotation, you will say no to that, because you want your student to take a break while you play other houses. If staying in student housing, when a students choose not to reenroll right away, the student is told to pack bags and move out, as you can only stay in say a dorm while enrolled. Unless you want your student to move back home, you could prepare a residential lot (any world would work) for temporary living. If staying in a residential lot (can be organized as a dorm) you won't need to move out while taking those breaks.

    Hope this made sense :)
  • You sort of can. You should stay on the sims at the university. Their time there will continue while you are controlling another family. If they don't go to class or do their assignments they will fail. What I did was stay in control of them during the week and checked in with my other families on the weekend. Anytime after their last class on Friday till their first class on Monday you can leave them. Just be sure they do their homework.
Yes, you can send more than one. I just had three brothers graduate yesterday.
  • Thank you @Simmerville and @akaniki0 ! One week classes for them! I might make a new save just for one house soon too
  • I had all four of my Sims in the same dorm. They're siblings, so I aged them up keeping a Sim day between them to maintain birth order. Then each in turn were enrolled using the uni-cheat. I had them apply for scholarships the day before I was set to age them up. The first three were all on track, only the fourth one was a day behind, but it worked out for me.
