I don't have an actor, but I do have a singer Sim, thanks to the Road to Fame mod. I find, if he doesn't actively work at his career, his star begins to fade. (Geez, the guy was just taking a few days after his wife gave birth to their first child.) For what it's worth, he's a Global Superstar, too. I shouldn't think his star would fade so quickly.
