Can't marry sim in employ?

Sometimes you get this error when your sim has a relationship with more than one person. Do they have any other boyfriends or girlfriends?

Try having your sim invite them over and use cheats to add them to family then try and have your sim marry them.

yea, this was the issue, thanks.

I hired three services (maid, gardener, butler) and the immediately cancelled them. This fixed it. No idea which service did it. Overlooked Nanny, but probably just got lucky.

Before this, both Sims joined careers, then quit - no joy. Also broke up with all other romances. Had to invite a ghost to a social event to do this, and it didn't work.

And now they are married.
