Can't Propose (Solved)

From what the title says, I'm sure you guys already know what problem I'm having (this time :D) I've searched about this and found other threads regarding this problem, but I couldn't find one that related. This is what went down:

My sim's son had just aged up. His girlfriend was still a teenager at the time and so I figured that I'd wait until she'd turn into a vampire to age her up as well. All went well and after playing a little more, I decided to move the two out and into an apartment of their own. This is where the problem occurs. I take my newly aged up sims into the city to have Noah propose, but alas, the propose option wasn't there. That's when I did some research but could find nothing else relatable. I then continued to try and choose more romantic options to see if it would eventually appear in the menu, but it didn't. What I did notice is that the options "Pick-up Line" and "Confess Attraction" were there and I know that after becoming official those two options disappear. Then I checked in the relationship panel. This is what it said under "relationships":

For him: Soulmates, best friends, offspring, promised

For her: Soulmates, best friends, master, promised

It doesn't say that they're boyfriend/girlfriend. It's as if they're only romantic interests. I'm guessing it's because maybe I waited before aging her up? I don't want to ask to just be friends for fear they they'll lose their "soulmates" status. I did have the idea of just letting it go and pretending that they're married but I'm not sure. What should I do?

  • Hello
Although you don't want to use the " just be friends" interaction , it has helped other simmers who have had this issue. You can then build up their relationship again, until they get the propose option to appear.
  • I 100% believe that the "Promised" interaction has something to do with the glitch. I went through the same thing and unfortunately, as everyone above me said, you gotta do the 'Just Be Friends' interaction. If you want to, however, you can do the just friends thing and then do the modifyrelationship cheat to get their romance relationship back to 100.

I had this problem, also. And rosemow is correct. I had to have him ask to "just be friends" which tore at my own heart, but then I was able to quickly get them back to where they were and then some. :)

That's good to hear! I guess I'll give it a shot, thank you and @rosemow :)

Wow :o I definitely won't be trying that next time :D but I did ask to just be friends and it was back to how it once was before! Silly me getting worried for one small thing, haha

  • I had to do the Just be friends option. And I no longer use the "Promise" action. Every single time I did that, I got the glitch where they couldn't propose.
  • Hey guys I am having this same problem currently. It is going on with all my households no one can propose. You select the opposition then it goes away. I never promised them to each other nor where they first loves. I deleted my whole game and reinstalled it with the same problem. What else can be done???....I'll take any suggestions at this point.
