- FatTribble233 years agoNew ScoutI'm a dog person IRL, but I like cats too. I prefer dogs to cats in the Sims ... I dunno really, I just do. In RL we currently have one dog (mine) a cat (my sister's) and another cat we took in to avoid him being homeless, poor sod. He's adopted me back haha. He doesn't know I'm a dog person, or perhaps just doesn't care.
- MDianaSims3 years agoSeasoned HotshotI think both are done well in game, in terms of behaviour. But walking a dog is such a horrendously tedious activity (takes waaaay too long and has to happen often - the balance is completely off) that it really makes me prefer cats in game.
In real life, I'm 51% cat person, 49% dog person (you have to favour one of them).
My profile picture is my new puppy ? - Irl I am definitely more team cats as our household has had them since i was tiny baby bean and they're oh so snuggly companions
but I do feel like in game I have dogs more often maybe because i cannot be trusted to take care of one in real life so i do it in sims  and I like having my sims walk em dogs around neighborhood
in all honesty tho answer would probably be dragons if we had them - nikkiheathcote953 years agoNew SpectatorI prefer cats in my game and in RL, as a child I almost got my pinky ripped off by a dog, safe to say I've learn a lesson of trying to Pet a dog that I don't know, that said I do still like dogs believe it or not, I love petting dogs and playing with them if I know the owner, I do get a bit of anxiety when a strangers dog runs up to me
- annaliese393 years agoSeasoned NewcomerI love both IRL and TS4. I have a Scottie dog, but he's cat friendly. Sadly other dogs in the family are not and so we haven't had a cat in years. My sim has a cat though and they have such a cute bond.
- kukkahilla3 years agoSeasoned VeteranI don't know! I'm a cat person irl. Yet I have played with dogs more and although my sims have cats I still don't know them in game as well as dogs :joy: Somehow the families I have played more have always had a dog. Now one of them has a raccoon, so maybe I'll finally learn more about cats too. I like them both!
- mariefoxprice833 years agoSeasoned VeteranI vastly prefer cats in real life and in game. I resent how long it takes a sim to take their dog on even a short walk, especially as you can't walk multiple dogs at once.

- A tip for walking dogs in large neighborhoods: Just put them on a leash and click the ground and select "go here" to a spot, then return home. When I'm in big neighborhoods like Windenburg, I usually just leash mine, walk/jog slightly down the road and then return home and unleash the dog. You don't need to go around the whole neighborhood for hours. Just walk them until you have the Good Walk buff. You can also just put the dog on a leash and walk around the house until you get the buff.
- bshag4lv3 years agoSeasoned AdventurerI love both irl, but have been partial to dogs in the game. I can't seem to teach the wee evil kitties to stay off the kitchen counters, as every time my sim would try to teach them to stay off, the cats will always turn on the sim. :# But I am going to try again, and this time ignore the cat. :D
What I do instead of using the leash to walk the dogs, I teach them heel, then my sim can job with the dog at her/his side. It looks cool and serves two purposes. :) I just wish I could get a dog that does not bark, all the barking and running around makes me crazy!
