Changing weather

Question

Is it just me or do weather change cheats not work? I can manage to change the season but as soon as I try and change the actual weather, heat, sunny etc, it just doesnt take. What am I doing wrong? I have testing cheats enabled and am using the following

weather.start_weather_event Weather_Heatwave

It works with MCCC, but it usually takes an hour or so in game to change to the selected weather.
I expect it to be the same for actually typing or copy/pasting the cheat. But I have never tried that myself, MCCC is just easier.

I never used the cheat codes for weather. I normally use mccc and just click on the letter box. I have recently tested the weather machine for the first time (fully upgraded) and it worked fine. Maybe one of these options work for you.

They've never worked for me either, there's the weather machine as well but that's probably even more useless as it either doesn't work or almost kills your sim 9/10 times
