My sim is living in an on-campus house, and in one of the rooms there's a shelf, a table, and a couch. My sim somehow glitched her way into the little empty triangular space between those 3 pieces of furniture and got stuck. No way out. Usually I would just go into build mode and move the items by hand to free my sim, but now you can't! So frustrating...
Luckily, traveling to a different venue got her out, but I shouldn't have to go through the effort!
