I think the living area looks great, though I am not very sure about the two huge speakers, one should be enough I think. In the dining area, maybe if you replace the flower boxes with Dream home decorator shelf units/cubicles, it would look both modern and offer storage space for collectibles and stuff. Also, table and menu have a diner look about them, I would replace the menu with a fruit bowl or small flower vase, and get a table with white wooden legs and glass top, I think there is one in basegame, resembles a bit the white sidebtable you have under the window.
I've changed the dining table and added some shelves replacing the flower boxes. The shelving seems to work but not sure about the calendar next to it. I've also replaced the dining table:
