I usually have color-codes per-sim. I play legacy style, so when their born and age into a toddler, I pick a "favorite color" based on a clothing item that they were wearing when they first aged out of the baby stage (from the randomized clothing.) Then I make their outfits and rooms feature their "favorite color."
