Has anyone tried to go on vacation if they animals at home?

I've run into this as well. I also tried to hire a gardener to care for my plants while on vacation, and rather than caring for the plants at my Sim's residence, the gardener showed up at the vacation rental. With vacations being a fully integrate part of the game and necessary for Aspirations, I think this concept could use some work.
