Cottage Living: Prep and Plans

We were having a wonderful bookstore discussion in the cottage living positive thoughts thread so I thought we could continue that discussion here along with whatever other preparation and plans you have for Cottage Living. Will you be starting with a new family, playing with one of the families that might come with the world, or moving an existing family to Henford-on-Bagley. What shops or community lots are you planning? Are you leveling up some of your sims' cooking, baking, gardening skills? I'm sure we'll have lots more to discuss as more information is released.

My original idea was to move out with my main family. They're currently a couple of young adults living in a small flat San Myshuno as they both just graduated. I'm going to make the girl pregnant and they'll decide to keep the baby. As both of them lived all their childhood on Windenburg, they'll soon realise they want the best environment for their baby, so they'll decide to move to somewhere with more nature; they'll end up moving to a cheap, small, old cottage with lots of repairing to do but with a beautiful big garden and gorgeous surroundings. ♥

My other idea was to play with this family that has a little bit of a background. Carol and Ethan where a young couple, living with Ethan's mom on the countryside. One day, they went to a vacation trip to Sulani. They were enjoying their trip, the beaches, the little extra sun, but what they didn't know was they've been watched by a Mermaid all this time. This mermaid had "adopted" a little girl originally from Mua Pelam, when she found her alone after a volcano explosion on the island. ? She had been taking care of her for a while, waiting to find her the perfect family. She was about to leave her with some locals, when she saw this couple of foreigners who seem very sweet. The baby's name was "Joy" because the mermaid knew every sim child carried a name, and that was one of the only words she knew in simlish by hearing the locals talk on festive days, and while smiling, so she thought it must had a beautiful meaning. She had been following Carol and Ethan really close, and on the last day of their trip, while they were waiting for their cruise back home, she left the baby on a basket made of plantain leaves with an illegible note with her name. The mermaid tried to write "Joy" , but she didn't quite know how to write, and the only legible word on the note was a "J". The young couple felt somehow choose, and they decided to keep her on the last minute. As they read the "J", they decided to call her "Josie", and bring her home with them to Henford. ? ♥ ? ? ?‍♀️

Aww I love your background story for your Sim family!
