Cottage living worth buying?

I can’t decide yet if this is a pack I want. Can you tell me why you like it or don’t like it?
  • I like it because it adds SO MUCH CUTE STUFF. Chickens roosters chicks llamas cows plants fairs SO MUCH CUTE STUFF. I MOSTLY BOUGHT IT BECAUSE TODDLERS CAN PLAY WITH THE CHICKS. AND I THINK RABBITS MAYBE. AND SO MUCH COOL BUILD MODE / CAS. Sorry about the caps. I got a tad bit exited. It also has such cute and cool stories. There's the mayors son who wants to leave Henford-on-bagley but is scared about how his mom will react. There's the guy who has a crush on this lady, but they had a bad date and she has an awkward sentiment while he has a smitten one. As far as dislikes go, I don't like how it added llamas. It sort of feels like if they just added the freezer bunny as a roaming npc. It ruins all the cameos IMO.

    Over all, 4.5/5 stars.
  • if you can't decide you can always wait up and consider it throughly ;) even if you want bonus content its available all way to september so plenty of time for consideration

    personal opinions? coming soon.
I've yet to play much of it because it was quite late release time for me but for now excited to dive in

i only really got to cas yesterday and for that i can say:
    Spoiler

female cas: 11/10 probably best yet tbh i love it my gals can finally look cute and comfy like i want them and i like how there is dark swatches for pretty much everything but also very summery light colors

male cas: quite underwhelming after going through female cas :/ but even so some cute items I'll definitely have some use

I buy any expansion pack that adds gameplay. This one in particular caters to farming, hence why it's called cottage living. I like that there's more to do other than attending to farm animals. There's quest, new stalls, new oversized crops, crochet and more. Plus the free update adds more to this, so it's gameplay overload at this point.

This!! It has so much new gameplay and honestly really replayable gameplay to me. I’m so addicted.

A farming career would have made a lot of sense and would have added depth and replayability.

Not sure how much it would have added in terms of Gameplay what you can't already do if your sim disappears via rabbit hole, plus there's already a Gardening career as well, so not sure what would help set it apart completely from it than a few interactions. (Less it could go into depth like the Conservationist career or stylist one.)

Had sims that made a living off gardening and would sell their goods via selling table on their lot for other sims to buy. This pack definitely added more to expand on that so I didn't find myself needing a dedicated career.

@Bren91 Playing with it for some good hours now I've concluded that I really do enjoy this. I was pretty so-so with a farming related pack at first as I had a few sim families I'd probably use it for, but was pleasantly surprised. With the Simple Living lot trait I find things so much better with sims being locked out unable to make anything unless they had ingredients and you don't have access to quick meals either. My sim bought some basics like flour and sugar. Anything like milk and eggs came from their animals and garden. Didn't have bread to make grilled cheese so had her bake some and then use the bread she made for it. So, extra steps and more planning when your Sim cooks now which I like. :)

Lot of busy work and 'chores' as you can call it having multiple animals on a lot. Bout what you'd expect in running a farm. My sims would even autonomously clean the sheds when they'd get dirty.

If you play in Henford (Despite it not having a whole lot of lots) I can see it's all about community and helping one another. Thought it'd be more like odd jobs but more interactive, which takes me some time with certain things to get some said items to the sim. I like that they gave the whole 'quest' thing another try in comparison to Strangerrville as this definitely works a lot better. Doing that prepping for contests to win be it chicken or otherwise.

Another thing I was surprised was with the lore they gave the NPC's here along with sentiments and more story, which is a first since release. Makes me feel like there's more to them. Hope they do that more (and go back and fix sims at least with base game now.)

Overall, a lot of gameplay with this pack which I am always for.
  • I love it so far. I only got to play it for a few hours yesterday, the time flew by so fast. I'm so excited to get back to it later today.
  • Speaking as someone who had no interest in farming this is AMAZING. Works so well with the pond tool. And off the grid eco lifestyle stuff. Only thing I don't like is B/B or most CAS because I don't like the cottage style. Haven't had much time to play too long because I spent hours playing after I brought it and finally had to go to sleep?? But loving it so far because I feel like you don't necessarily have to go with the cottage ascetic if its not your thing and still use it in other ways.

I'm building swamp treehouses where the survivors will farm off the grid.
And I moved my vampire to the new world and circled their castle with alligator infested waters lol
