What? another one already. The grim icon only disappeared yesterday! The sims team sure wants to keep the pressure on. So no relaxed playing the sims in december. I realised we would be getting more of those events but I was hoping to get a few weeks in between to enjoy the game at our own pace. đ I miss when the sims was a game that we could play at our own time with no FOMO driven tasks.

another sad song....EA needs to make money off this game.

I couldn't believe this when I first saw it. Seriously? The last one hasn't even ended yet!!! I don't want to be pushed into gameplay and the UI is annoying me to bits. I hate that it cuts into the screen, opens up when I don't ask it to and blinks. Can't it just be in scenarios where you opt in? Or at least give us an option to opt out.
EA, listen carefully, forced gameplay is NOT fun. Let me choose!
For those who are excited and think this is fun, I'm happy for you, I don't begrudge you your fun, just let me opt out.

The last Event ended on November 19th, a week before this post was even made.
There is no forced gameplay, you don't have to do anything you don't want. If you dislike the Event, you don't have play it at all. You can opt out.

My sentiments exactly, there are way too many negative players, I for one am grateful for any extra gameplay that is made available to me, and the freebies of course.

I can't understand what you mean by forced gameplay to be honest. You have an option, a choice not to play for the rewards, I believe with Reapers Rewards there was an option to end the event early. I think you have to see the bigger picture that Simmers like my granddaughter who can't afford a lot of the packs, only what I buy her, this enables her to get some extra stuff in her game. Please do not pressurize the Sims team to not do these events.

No, it isn't optional. At least Reapers wasn't. The wretched menu popped up, blocked a corner of the screen and all but screamed for attention. It wouldn't stay minimized. It couldn't be made to go away. If there was an option to "end it early" I never saw it.
All I'm asking for, all a lot of people are asking for, is a real option to click on and say "I don't want to play this" and have it go away, and stay away, rather than staying the screen.
People who want to play these rewards should be able to play them.
If they are something you enjoy and that adds to your gameplay experience it's a good thing... for you. For me, it takes away from my gameplay experience. For me, just having that menu there makes the game worse. All I want is the option. For people who like it, they should be able to have it. For people - like me - who don't, we should be able to opt out.
The great thing about the Sims is that there is no right way to play.
All I'm asking for is the choice to play my way.

Shouldn't they iron out the issues with reward events before starting another one? Because there were an alarming amount of people who couldn't even play them. Heck, look at the bug reports and see how the game is falling apart right now.

I am so NOT interested in this that I am logged back into these forums for the first times in weeks, if not months, to say that I'm not interested in this.
If I wanted to play scenarios, I would choose to play scenarios. I don't. I therefore sincerely hope that this comes with an opt-out (or better yet, active opt-in) option.

Not another one already.

I cannot express how angry it made me logging in today to have this full screen ad slapped across the whole dang screen. I just cannot get behind these events, at all.
If these were scenarios I wouldn't mind but they are not. The last event was basically a malware worm.It brute forced it's way into every save file we have without permission, held our games hostage for weeks, created more bugs than the rewards promised (that is assuming you would have given permission to join the event) & could not be disabled even if users did not want to "participate".
As someone who works in tech with a focus on security these events are user hostile to a point of being revolting.
I understand some people are very excited for this sort of event & as someone else said, I'm happy for you. However from a user friendlyness perspective these events need to be opt out. Not a single one of us signed up for a Battle Pass style game in 2014 10 years & $1,000+ ago. Changing your business model to this extreme midstream release is a good way to make just about everyone unhappy in some way.
I think we really need to ask, why do they even have scenarios if events like this are going to be forced now? - dianed485New Scout
Already ?? Are we gonna have those all the time now ?

looks like it. Sadness...It's Real.đĒ

It's hard to be excited for these events when they don't work. I'm hoping this one does, though. I also wish they'd give event rewards as SDX drops for those who don't get them, because it's so annoying to worry about missing out because the events don't work.

Even when it works it's very disappointing "gameplay." When this was announced, I pictured Grim coming over or calling my Sim and saying he needs help - but nope!! I do suffer from being pretty literal as I am autistic, so that got my hopes up. That also means I was more disappointed in the shallow fakery of "Grim's" quests than I could have been. I also thought the whole process would make sense, overall - nope. They really shoved the aspects together. âšī¸
Though subtle, the event was hyped up, but actually quite lackluster. Even the unlocking of rewards was messed up by their poor planning (timing/points spacing) - I was underwhelmed and left a bit confused. I should have felt some excitement, but nope.
I could tell (I think it's obvious?) that Reaper's Rewards was VERY rushed. And here comes a second event of this type after very little time to fix bugs, let alone plan it all better.
And don't even get me started on how seasonal gardening massively derailed my questing!!! (Why should I build a greenhouse just for some stupid quest?!) ALSO! I didn't like learning the hard way that taking cuttings can kill plants! (I thought more cutting might help my sim out, and IRL it's harmless!) I DID NOT WANT THIS GAMEPLAY!!
I've enjoyed both the Happy At Home and Reaper's Rewards events and really looking forward to this one.
I've not run into any issues with the previous events. I do hope this one goes smoothly for everyone.

It'll break just like the reaper event I'm sure.
