Create A Sim FAILS!

Ever try your hardest to recreate someone or something and it just didn't work out? Well this discussion is to show you that you are not alone by any means lol. I wanted to try to recreate Orochimaru from Naruto and I failed terribly the facial structure is wrong, his eyes aren't quite right and I think I even got the skin color a little wrong too now that I look at him. But hey even through his imperfections of being actually him, I still love him lol. I want to see your fails as well If you have any, and this is not supposed to be a negative thread at all I just thought it would be fun to post sims we've failed at making.

  • I have never taken any screenshots of my total fails. I actually never thought to. After I laugh hysterically at whatever I tried to do I hit the randomize button and try to figure out how to forget that set of unfortunate circumstances.
  • Creating characters from tv/movies is always really hard. The sims are perfectly symmetrical, and people are not, so they never quite look right. I’d say that for what we have available to us in the sims, you did a pretty darn good job with Orochimaru.

The only thing I can see you doing to “fix” it would be to go into the close up mode and thin the plum out of his jaw, and widen his chin and try to square it off as much as possible. Maybe thin the head itself some. The eyes really aren’t all that far off in my opinion. It’s hard for us to get that sort of angle going for the eyes in game without mods. The skin could be lightened and brightened with an overlay, but that is the closest skin tone without the use of custom content. All around you did a great job! But I understand the slight disappointment when a sim doesn’t turn out exactly right.

personally I think he looks pretty good, it can be a fun challenge but sometimes you first have to take what's good enough and then later try again just so you can compare.

@mmt3363 thanks for the suggestions! I’ll go try that, it sounds like you know what you’re doing when it comes down to making sims. Where do you get your overlays?

I use The Sims Resource for my custom content most often. The Beauty Skin V2 for males and females by Ms Blue can be found there, and it’s my personal favorite. I use it for basically all my sims. But there are a lot of options on TSR to check out.
  • lol well that's one way to do It I usually just go with it I'm too lazy to keep trying again I should probably work on that.
