To be honest, I'm at a point where I can't read anything more than manipulation into this. There's a psychological effect that when you help someone you are more likely to like them: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Franklin_effect
I'm pretty sure their marketing team is aware of stuff like this. The patch notes are usually very well done and thoughtful (actually it appears they are done with more care than the game code itself). So this is not EA being thankful for community services, but EA wanting us to like them more. - djsboonie11 months agoSeasoned Ace

@Atreya33 if you're on pc & use mods you can download twisted mexi's better build/buy. He updated it to remove, or at least not show, the shopping cart. - Simmerville11 months agoLegend

I think you are thinking way too much :)
I don't see how EA could choose strategy at all. They had to fix a pack that was totally useless as the core feature was ruining games. We probably got two E-patches just because there were so many complaints. I doubt it has anything to do with "wanting to be liked" - they had no choice, really.
While the past patch notes would often be a fun read, the joking was often coming in the way of the facts, making it harder to actually read the essence of the fixes. I don't mind a little humor here and there, but re patch notes I might prefer the clean text. Besides - "hey, our serious distortion bug destroyed many of your beloved sims, let's make some jokes out of it!" would be rather tasteless. - atreya3311 months agoLegend

I am considering to use a mod, yes. But I also thought there was a stand alone one for just this issue. - So glad the retail bug has been fixed! Was looking forward to creating a jewelry store for Isabel.
Hopefully all the fixes work as intended and we can get back to playing and sharing. - PandoraTO11 months agoSeasoned Ace

AHQ has been the bane of their existence for the past week, so I read that "thanks" ironically. But I'm an intractable cynic when it comes to this whole business, so YMMV! - FreddyFox123411 months agoSeasoned Ace

I think Simmattically has a standalone mod that just removes the shopping cart.
Anyway, you might be lucky when you update and find that you don’t even have the shopping cart. 43% of us who’ve voted on @Lenny_Ogg’s poll don’t have it :) Isabel out digging for crystals. So far I've resisted the urge to go into debug and grab them all. :p
For anyone who might be thinking of opening a jewelry boutique Sandy on Around The Sims 4 has some lovely pieces. On Patron early access until March 9.
