Custom Skin Swatches are not Cross Save Compatible

After playing around with the new skin patch, I've noticed that all my custom saved skin only appear in the save file I've created them in, so I'm not able to use them in all my other save files. Can ...

This is surprising. Good to know.
If we save a sim to the library and place them in another save and save the custom skin again. Would that work?
