Every book that makes it to the shelf has been redrafted, revised at least three to five times. ;) Your Sim knows this. You could always speed up the process by hitting the fastest button until the book is done. :D But, I do feel your pain.
Oh, I always hit the "fast" forward button, I have no patience to watch the Sim's back for five minutes. xD But I think I know what's wrong. It's probably writer's block, and it doesn't show since she's got the care free trait and won't get tense. :)
