Dear Sims Team: Thank You for the Stairs, But.....

Did you have to design them to have a stupid L or h-shaped opening footprint on the floor above that doesn't easily allow for deleting those extra floor tiles to make a rectangle? This ruins any aesth...

Another thing I've found when messing around with basements is that any style of fence on the floor above will block modular stairs. Like here, I can't have the stairs take this shape in an empty space because a fence is present on the floor above.
