I just wish they would even out the emotional deaths. They promoted them quite heavily leading up to release only to make them incredibly difficult to achieve. The only one I have been able to achieve was the mortified death, and that took a significant amount of effort. Others like laughing to death, or the anger death have been impossible. Putting a sim in a room to spawn playful interactions, with playful decor all around - and they go from 'very playful' to 'playful'. What the heck! It's as if they intentionally made death a chore.
One example of this that has bugged me since launch day is how elders exclusive death by exhaustion is blocked by default. You get them 'very uncomfortable' and and certain interactions are greyed out and inaccessible. I don't see why, when the moodlet involved tells the player they will die if they keep up strenuous activity. There's workarounds, but that's incredibly inconvenient.
Hmm, that's interesting. I have found that it is really hard to get my Elders to die by exhaustion. I remember having it happen earlier in the game, but lately I've been actively trying to get it with no success. I think they used to be able to WooHoo or keep exercising, but now you're right that it is greyed out. I agree that the happy decoration buffs make it hard to have an Angry or Embarrassed death, although my sister had an unintentional Anger death recently.
