Although I definitely agree about the fact there's only originally 6 residential lots, it's not the pack's biggest fault in my opinion.
Fame ruins the game's functionality, from sims cancelling queued actions to go freak out or faint over a random celebrity, to how sims can come visit your restaurant and shop and stop all customers from buying anything, it messes up quite a few features of the game.
