It makes a lot more sense for them to come with generations as the pack is literally about family life, and bunk beds are pretty popular for family gameplay so it just adds up. 99% of players aren't gonna want bunk beds for hotel decor they're gonna want them for their kids rooms... Bunk beds were also first added to the game with Generations in the Sims 3.
And Bodyhair. Bodyhair was also introduced in the TS3 Generations pre-patch.
Let’s hope for the best. ? "Onverser;c-17819901" wrote:

Honestly I'm surprised I haven't already heard anyone talking about this, but for anyone who doesn't know the Sims team announced in the anniversary livestream that Bunk Beds are coming at the end of March.https://i.ytimg.com/vi/7hbDTGhpH30/maxresdefault.jpg
Obviously this seems a pretty random time to release an item so it makes logical sense that it's going to be in a pre pack update. And looking at the possible upcoming packs, there's only really one pack that it would make sense with - Generations. They also did the same with ladders last year, they were added in a pre pack patch before Eco Lifestyle so it makes sense that they would do the same again and then with the pack they'd include more versions of bunk beds
If you look at the release timetable it also perfectly adds up. Eco Lifestyle came out at the start of June, 5 months later Snowy Escape came out at the start of November. 5 months after that is... the start of April. There's also usually two other releases between expansions, people have been theorising game packs but I think these "kits" mark the second release so it's very likely an expansion will be next after them.
If you look at the calender, it also all makes sense timescale wise. The bunk bed announcement specified late March so I'd assume the last few days of March, patches usually come out on a Tuesday and the last Tuesday is the 30th aka the very end of March. Expansions usually come out on Fridays, so this would mean that if I'm right the pre-pack update with bunk beds will happen on March 30th, and the pack will come out April 2nd!
So if this is right, which is an if but I think it's likely, this is the timeline I'm expecting- Kits Annoucement (Confirmed): March 2nd
- Kits Release: March 5th
- 16th/9th March: Generations Trailer Reveal
- March 30th: Pre-Pack Update (With Bunk Beds!)
- April 2nd: Generations Released
I think from what we've seen kits are gonna be a quick release, they're gonna announce them and then push them out the same week. The pre-pack patch for kits most likely was the anniversary patch hence why all the details have been leaked as they were included in the code for the patch. I think they also know kits are gonna be controversial hence why they announced bunk beds early at the same time..
(And also not to brag but I'd also like to point out that last May I posted that a winter vacation is very likely to come out that fall and I think that was one of the first speculation threads made on it last year, and I also posted that there was gonna be a vacuuming pack last June so yknow...)
Bunk beds could release with Resorts and Hotels as well.
Are there ever any resort or hotels that provide bunk beds in their rooms?
I’ve never been to a hotel with Bunkbeds I really don’t understand why people think that The two correlate with each other it makes way more sense for bunkbeds to come with a generation or a child who pack and that’s what I think will be next Not hotels or resorts even though I know many people want them I just don’t see that being the next game pack or expansion pack
Iron Seagull has mentioned he's seen hotels with bunk beds.
I strongly doubt they'd come with hotels, when I think bunk beds I think kids rooms and family houses not hotels. Sure some hotels have them but bunk beds are primarily a space saving thing for families with kids. If they're making a hotel pack the focus of it is gonna be running and owning hotels, hotel decor, staff, etc not bunk beds.
It makes a lot more sense for them to come with generations as the pack is literally about family life, and bunk beds are pretty popular for family gameplay so it just adds up. 99% of players aren't gonna want bunk beds for hotel decor they're gonna want them for their kids rooms... Exactly I understand simmers what hotel and resorts but let be realistic here bunkbeds have nothing to do with hotels a generation or childhood/ school pack is next- Kits Annoucement (Confirmed): March 2nd
- EmmaVane4 years agoSeasoned AceNice theory but I doubt a Generations EP is next for 2 reasons:
1. Generations isn't the only theme that fits bunk beds (boarding school, summer/hobby camps, prepper emergency bunkers, teens, military, prisons, bedroom furniture set, sleepover pack, etc.)
2. The bunk bed update is major enough to be pre-pack, but it's the wrong time of year for an EP - my guess is a GP Is due. "EmmaVane;c-17819975" wrote:

Get to Work came out on April 2nd in Europe and 3 days earlier in the US- EmmaVane4 years agoSeasoned Ace

Youth Hostels. Cheap places to stay that are split into dorms with several bunk beds. You pay for a bed for the night and have access to bathrooms, communal kitchen, lounge, game room, basic breakfast etc. - EmmaVane4 years agoSeasoned Ace

That was the very first EP though. The last 2 years (or more) we get one in the summer (June) and one in time for Black Friday/festive shoppers (November). "EmmaVane;c-17819975" wrote:

How can I be the wrong time of the year for a EP? I understand that’s has been the normal routine for the last maybe two years but doesn’t mean they are obligated to continue the same routine They can switch courses anytime they choose
I’m not saying that a expansion pack is next it could still be a GP pack that’s up next. But don’t be so quick to just assume oh they didn’t like that last its going to be the same this year.- manicobsessive14 years agoSeasoned AceI thought that it was strange that the bunkbeds didn't come with the 21st anniversary patch. This could very well be the reason. Am looking forward to finding out. :)
- Erja8884 years agoSeasoned AceI hope they come with a new pack. It is always such a long and boring wait until the announcement/release of the June EP.

They aren't bound to those months though, there is no roadmap saying they're gonna release on x month and x month. Just because they've stuck to the same few months the past few years doesn't mean it's gonna be the same every year without question.
For example if they are planning hotels as a game pack like people are saying, they could've decided to give that a summer release instead. That would make a lot of sense as hotels are very much a "summer pack" like Island Living
